After the official launch of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) program, which was led by Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) signed a “Murabaha agreement” to help Nigeria’s health sector by building a 300-bed specialized hospital in Kaduna State.
The signing of the agreement came after a strategic meeting between Dr. Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, and His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), on Monday in Abuja.
In a statement, the IsDB Group said that the project will provide comprehensive and high-quality healthcare services to help solve the problem of patients being sent from primary and secondary care facilities in Nigeria and nearby countries to tertiary care facilities.
It added that “the construction, equipping of the new hospital, and recruiting of highly trained personnel to provide state-of-the-art medical care services will boost the health sector in the sub-region. ”
The IsDB Group and Nigeria’s Finance Minister also discussed ways to improve relations between Nigeria and the bank. They talked about the group’s membership strategy, funding that had already been approved, and Nigeria’s commitment to the IsDB Group.
