The presidential campaign vehicle of Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate has been attacked by unidentified thugs on Wednesday in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State. Several people were allegedly injured and have been taken to the hospital.
This was made known by PDP spokesman, Dino Melaye, during a rally in the state. “No fewer than 100 automobiles were vandalized in the attack,” the former lawmaker added.
Atiku’s convoy was said to have been attacked when the presidential candidate left the Shehu of Borno’s palace, Alhaji Abubakar Garbai Elkanemi, for Ramat Square to address his supporters in the State.
Melaye charged that efforts were being made by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to sabotage the opposition party’s campaigns.
