Twitter users voted for Elon Musk to step down from his role as the head of the social media platform with 57.5% of the votes against 42.5% of the 17.5 million voters.

It’s just a few hours after the vote was concluded, and Elon Musk is yet to say anything about the outcome. But in the early hours of Monday when Elon Musk tweeted and initiated the vote, he said he will abide by the result of user votes to either remain as the platform’s CEO or step down.

On April 14, 2022, the business tycoon Elon Musk began the acquisition of the American social media firm Twitter, Inc., and it was completed on October 27, 2022. Musk began buying Twitter shares in January 2022, and by April he had amassed a 9.1 percent ownership position, making him the company’s largest stakeholder.
