Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has advised the leadership and members of the Christian Association of Nigeria not to allow politicians, particularly those who are desperate to get elected, to pit them against one another.

Wike made the call at a dialogue with the management and important stakeholders of the Rivers State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the banquet hall of Government House in Port Harcourt.

He said that all of the candidates running in the state-level election on March 18—particularly those running for governor—are Christians.

Therefore, according to him, it is not advisable for any candidate to approach any CAN constituent family and demand endorsement, noting that if such is allowed, it could cause conflict within the association and harm the state.
