Following tensions caused by the compilation of the results of the gubernatorial and state assembly elections, the Kano State government imposed a dawn-to-dusk curfew in an effort to maintain law and order.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Monday morning by Malam Muhammad Garba, the state commissioner for information and internal affairs.
He said that the decision was made to stop thugs from wreaking havoc in the already stressful environment.
The state’s commissioner gave an order to the populace to stay indoors because security personnel would not spare anyone or any organisation out to stir up unrest.
