Police In Kano Arrest 57 for looting, trespass

As part of efforts to strengthening security of lives and properties in Kano State, the Police on Friday said, additional 57 suspects of theft and looting in shops and properties being demolished, have been arrested.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the command in the state, SP Abdullahi Haruna-Kiyawa, today.

“The Commissioner of Police warns that any individuals arrested in connection with such crimes will face the full force of the law.”

Kiyawa said the arrests are part of efforts to ensure criminals are crushed and defeated, in addition to numerous policies aimed at  protecting lives and properties of people in the state.

Citizen Reports gathered that 57 more people have been arrested for criminal trespass, mischief, and larceny.

With the latest arrests, total number of suspects has risen to 106, all of whom have been charged at Magistrate Court 35 Normans Land Kano.

In another development, the Police called on victims of the crimes to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Bompai, Kano State Police Command, as soon as possible to offer testimonies to claim  any stolen items.
