Aminat Imoitesemeh Yusuf from the Faculty of Law at Lagos State University (LASU) has emerged as the student with the highest recorded cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 5.00 in the University’s 40-year history, in the 2021–2022 academic session.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, announced this during a press conference as part of the University’s 26th convocation ceremony and 40th anniversary.
Prof. Ibiyemi commended Aminat for her exceptional commitment and relentless pursuit of excellence, which according to him, had earned her this prestigious accolade.
She received was presented with a cash prize of N500,000 by the university management of the institution.
During the briefing, Lopez Feyisayo Divine of the Department of Physiology, College of Medicine had also been recognized as the best graduating student for the 2020–2021 academic session, achieving a CGPA of 4.91.
They will be officially honoured in addition to receiving their awards and recognition at the upcoming convocation ceremony on June 21, 2023.
The VC congratulated families of the victors as well as the departments for attaining the remarkable recognition.
