Sokoto Launches Taskforce on Immunization to Create a State Free of Polio.

With a renewed commitment to ensuring Sokoto State is polio-free, Governor Dr. Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has officially launched the State Immunization and Primary Health Care (PHC) taskforce.

Mr. Abubakar Bawa, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, said in a statement that Aliyu identified health care delivery as one crucial issue that will receive special focus from his administration.

Governor Aliyu who vowed to shift the narrative, said, “Rejection of oral vaccines and inadequate routine immunization have been a major source of concern for the state.”

“Our nine-point program includes strengthening efficient health care services in an effort to make health care not only affordable but also available to everyone.

This administration is committed to providing all necessary support and assistance to eradicate polio in our state. He declared.

He promised to revive the strategies and plans put in place by Wamakko’s administration to achieve effective health care delivery, particularly with regard to polio eradication in the state.

He gave the committee instruction to make every effort to guarantee that no child under the age of five is unimmunized.

The Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Mr. Idris Muhammed Gobir, is the chairman of the 50-member committee.
