The new single “Jaye Lo” by DMW act Logos Olori has received severe criticism for its video, notably from Muslims who found the song’s message “offensive and disrespectful” to their faith.

On Friday, July 21, 2023, the new DMW 2.0 artist reportedly dropped his first single.

Following the release, DMW leader Davido, encouraged fans to stream the song by posting a little excerpt from the music video on Twitter.

The excerpt showed people dancing and worshipping in front of a mosque.

His Tweet reads: “Allow me to re-introduce, @logosolori with his new single “Jaye Lo”… Lets Run It Up one time! Let’s take over the world !!! We Litty.”

Responding to the celebrity’s Tweet, many Muslims on the Blue app didn’t find it savoury and therefore bashed him and asked that the video be taken down for carrying offensive content.

For instance, one Engr. Yasir Arafat Jubril said, “This is disgusting! Disrespectful and disgraceful, to say the least! As a seasoned musician, you should know best to guide your signee on lines not to cross. Take this down immediately and tender an unreserved apology to the Muslim Ummah.”

An ex-media aide to former President Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, said, “There are many reasons why every Muslim finds this content absolutely disrespectful, hurtful and offensive.”

Anasmatix said, “@davido in as much as we d Muslim never &will never joke with ur religion u should also not!we d Muslim are civilized ppl it’s not in us 2 abuse any religion,we are patients, law abiding ppl we respect any religion,& don’t take our patience 4granted pls take it down & apologizes!”
