Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has commissioned the distribution of 30 Toyota Hiace buses through the Yankari Transportation Services as part of his administration’s efforts to alleviate the impact of fuel subsidy removal.

The provision, he said is aimed to ease the transportation of citizens, particularly students of higher institutions, and boost the state’s economy.

Governor Mohammed who spoke at Yankari Motor Park Bauchi, highlighted that the operation and services of the buses would be subsidized to combat poverty and provide an affordable means of transportation for the people.

He said, “This initiative is expected to create job opportunities and promote self-reliance among the citizens.

And we acknowledge the contributions of traditional institutions in rebuilding both rural and urban areas of the state, we will continue to do more for the benefit of the citizenry”

He further revealed plans to provide additional Keke-Napep and motorcycles for Achaba, as well as the construction of more roads to improve living conditions.

Governor Mohammed urged the management of Yankari Transportation Services to ensure the optimal use, maintenance, and service of the vehicles, as his administration prioritizes sustainability in the transportation sector.

Likewise, he appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s effort to strengthen the collaboration between the Federal and state governments for the betterment of Nigeria.

He, however, stressed his determination to leave behind a legacy of prosperity, honesty, and sincerity, promising to continue providing security, engaging with the people, and pursuing peaceful solutions through persuasion.
