The Kano State Hisbah Board, under the leadership of  Sheikh Ibrahim Aminu Daurawa, conducted a successful patrol resulting in the arrest of two youths allegedly involved in a same-sex marriage, an act deemed contrary to established laws.

The apprehended youths, Abubakar and Halifa, were presented before the newsmen, where they admitted that the event in question was their birthday celebration, not a wedding.

They asserted that they were in the process of planning their marriage in accordance with Kano Hisbah’s guidelines.

The Citizen Reports learned that both were detained by the Kano Hisbah, along with the attendees of the gathering, pending further directives from the board.

Also, the Kano Hisbah Board has begun a substantial wedding campaign for members of the Abba Gida Gida political movement, extending its benefits to Muslims and Non-Muslims alike.

Sheikh Daurawa, who previously served as the board’s commander during Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s tenure as Kano’s governor, has been reappointed to the position by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

During his swearing-in ceremony, Sheikh Daurawa pledged to continue his efforts, partnering with civil societies, to promote social order and eliminate prostitution in Kano.
