Five persons lost their lives and seven were injured as the Zaria Central Mosque in Kaduna state collapsed during the Asr prayer on Friday.
The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, confirmed the situation, expressing condolences to the victims’ families and asking Allah to grant them Al-Jannat ul Firdaus.
It was gathered repairs on the mosque will be done, and the Emir instructed that people pray outside until the repairs are completed.
Similarly, the funeral prayer for the deceased was held at the emir’s palace in line with Islamic customs.
