Armed Bandits Abduct Nursing Mother, 12 Others in Bauchi

Gunmen suspected of being kidnappers have targeted villages in Ningi and Toro Local Governments in Bauchi State, resulting in the abduction of 12 persons, including a nursing mother. The attacks occurred on separate occasions on Saturday night.

Adama Abdulsalam, a nursing mother and wife of a businessman in Yadagungume, Ningi, was among those kidnapped.

In the Toro Local Government area, residents expressed concern over the escalating bandit activities, with two individuals, Babangida Danrimi and Saleh Jange, abducted.

It was learnt that the surge in banditry has impacted local businesses and created fear among communities.

Meanwhile, the Caretaker Chairman of Ningi local government, Ibrahim Zubairu, confirmed the incidents and noted efforts to restore peace.

While a spokesperson for the Bauchi state police command, Ahmed Wakili, couldn’t be reached for comment.
