Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has sworn in the new 19 Special Advisers, with a call on them to be prudent in the management of resources that will be made available to them, saying his administration is irrevocably committed to taking Bauchi state to greater height.

Mohammed who spoke during the swearing ceremony at the Bauchi Government House Banquet Hall, recalled that his reelection is a clear manifestation of the confidence reposed in him by the good people of the state, pledged not to take it for granted as he remains committed to working harder than he did in his first tenure to ensure more effective and efficient service delivery.

The appointment of the Special Advisers according to Mohammed, is part of his effort to engage people of integrity, requisite knowledge, experience and competence to serve at various capacities.

Governor Bala said even though some of the appointees are not from Bauchi state, they are Nigerians who have distinguished themselves at various fields and are expected to compliment the role of the recently appointed commissioners in service delivery.

As their titles suggest, the Special Advisers according to Bala Mohammed, are to advise him and the government, on the areas assigned to them, calling on them to see the appointment as a challenge as well as an opportunity for them to prove their capacities and bringing together the wealth of knowledge and experience in the discharge of their duties.

While calling on the appointees to make a meaningful impact on governance, Mohammed said the blueprint called the #BauchiProject which he conceptualized, has been reviewed by the technical committee to address the current socioeconomic realities.

He added that the report submitted by the committee will be thoroughly studied for his administration to be guided in transforming Bauchi state.

Governor Bala said as the testimony of sincerity of his administration to ensuring a knowledge driven governance, arrangement is being made to organize a retreat for Honourable Commissioners, Special Advisers, Local Government Chairmen and other stakeholders to avoid trail and errors in the running of government affairs.

He called on them to take the advantage of the retreat to prepare themselves for the task ahead of them.

Mohammed concluded by issuing a stern warning that he will not hesitate to sanction anyone found wanting in the discharge of his/her duty, saying it is a must to ensure synergy with other principal officers of the government.
