In anticipation of the commencement of the collation and the return of results for Saturday’s governorship election across the 21 local governments of Kogi State, a robust security deployment is in place at the state collation center.

Our correspondent, stationed at the INEC headquarters in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, reported a substantial presence of security operatives.

The state collation center is fortified with Armoured Personnel Vehicles, and all entry and exit points in the vicinity are barricaded. Armed riot policemen, personnel from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and sniffer dogs are strategically positioned around the INEC office, ensuring a secure environment for the collation process.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kogi State, Dr. Gabriel Longpet, has officially announced that the collation of results is scheduled to commence at 10 a.m.

These heightened security measures underscore the significance and sensitivity of the collation process in ensuring a smooth and orderly conclusion to the governorship election. Stay tuned for further updates as the electoral process unfolds.
