President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for the crucial COP28 climate summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

President Tinubu left the country this afternoon after his speech at the National Assembly, where he presented the 2024 Budget in a joint sitting of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

At the summit, Tinubu aims to spotlight Nigeria’s stance on critical issues like renewable energy, climate financing, and the profound impact of climate change on the nation.

Scheduled between December 1st and 2nd, the World Leaders’ Summit at COP28 adopts the theme “Unite, Act, and Deliver.”

President Tinubu is expected to address the severe challenges Nigeria faces due to climate change, including desertification, flooding, erosion, drought, and their implications for national security.

Additionally, President Tinubu will highlight Nigeria’s commitment to promoting sustainable and responsible practices by urging accountability among businesses and institutions.
