A 25-year-old man, Alkasim Ya’u, has been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Kano for allegedly stabbing his father to death in the Tudun Yola ‘C’ area of Gwale Local Government Area.
NSCDC Corps Commandant, Mohammed Falala, revealed the incident occurred on Friday around 1330 hours at the residence of Salisu Bala.
The father, Alhaji Ya’u Mohammed, had brought his mentally ill son for medical treatment at Psychiatric Hospital Dawanau, but tragedy struck when they returned to Tudun Yola.
The NSCDC intervened, taking the victim to the hospital and apprehending the suspect, who is now in police custody.
