President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for the disbursement of a staggering N12 billion to settle lingering financial obligations for the Super Eagles and various national teams across different sports.

This generous decision was communicated through an official statement released via the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Center’s X handle.

The statement highlighted that the approved funds would not only cover overdue salaries for senior national team coaches, spanning a daunting 15-month period but also encompass payments of allowances and commitments owed to the senior national teams, the female squads, and the Under-20 national team.

The statement states, “President @officialABAT has approved the payment of N12 billion outstanding backlog for Nigeria’s national teams of various sports, which includes Super Eagles and others.”

This timely financial boost comes on the heels of the Super Eagles’ preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, slated to kick off later this month.

President Tinubu’s commitment to settling these financial obligations reflects a dedication to supporting Nigeria’s sporting excellence on the international stage.
