The Nigeria Police Force apprehended Bello Mohammed, a 28-year-old resident of Zamfara State, on January 20, 2024, in Kaduna.

Acting on intelligence, the Divisional Police Officer of Tafa Division orchestrated a raid on a hotel in Tafa Area, Kaduna, leading to the arrest of Bello, who was found in possession of a staggering sum of N2.25 million, suspected to be proceeds from ransoms collected from kidnapped victims in the area.

Upon interrogation, the suspect admitted to being part of a criminal gang responsible for the kidnapping of family members of Barrister Ariyo in Bwari, FCT, on January 2, 2024.

Tragically, the gang killed some of the kidnapped victims, including Nabeeha, the daughter of the legal practitioner, on January 13, 2024, within a kidnappers’ camp in Kaduna State.

In a dramatic turn of events during the interrogation, the suspect attempted to offer a bribe of N1,000,000 (one million naira) to the Divisional Police Officer, who unequivocally rejected the illicit offer.

The arrest and subsequent revelations shed light on the sinister activities of criminal networks involved in kidnappings and heinous crimes.

This latest development underscores the relentless efforts of the Nigeria Police Force in combating criminal activities and bringing perpetrators to justice.

The arrest of Bello Mohammed is a crucial step towards dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety and security of citizens in the region.

Authorities continue to investigate and pursue leads related to this disturbing case.
