APC Governors Donate N200 Million to Super Eagles Ahead of AFCON Semifinal

As the Super Eagles gear up for their semifinal clash against South Africa in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) has allocated a sum of N200 million to support the team.

According to Sports Development Minister Senator John Owan Enoh, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum, swiftly mobilized the funds in response to the need to motivate the national soccer team for their crucial match against South Africa.

Senator Enoh expressed gratitude to the PGF for their prompt action in providing financial assistance to the Super Eagles, emphasizing the team’s dedication and determination to excel in the tournament.

The Super Eagles, currently in Cote D’Ivoire for AFCON 2023, have demonstrated remarkable commitment and resilience throughout the competition.

TCR observed that with the responsibility of representing Nigeria on the continental stage, they carry the hopes of the nation as they strive to clinch the coveted Cup of Nations once again.

The semifinal showdown between the Super Eagles and South Africa is set to take place at Stade Bouaké in Bouaké, Cote d’Ivoire.
