Herbert Wigwe, the group chief executive officer of Access Holdings Plc, along with his wife, son, and Abimbola Ogunbanjo, former group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group), were involved in a helicopter crash in the United States.
The crash occurred on Friday near the California-Nevada border.
Reports indicate that six passengers were aboard the helicopter at the time of the crash.
As of now, no survivors have been found. The identities of the other passengers onboard have not been disclosed at this time.
Emergency responders are currently at the scene, conducting search and rescue operations. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The news has sent shockwaves through the business community, as Herbert Wigwe is a prominent figure in the Nigerian banking sector, known for his leadership at Access Holdings Plc.
