Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been suspended from his ward membership in Kano State over allegations of corruption.

The executive members of Ganduje’s ward in Dawakin-Tofa local government area of Kano State made this announcement on Monday.

Haladu Gwanjo, the legal adviser of the ward, who addressed journalists in the state capital, said that the former Kano Governor is alleged to have committed gross misconduct and misappropriation of public funds during his administration in Kano.

Gwanjo further disclosed that Ganduje’s membership suspension came after a vote of no confidence was passed against him.

This decision was made due to his failure to clear his name from various corruption allegations, notably the widely circulated video purportedly showing him receiving dollars as a bribe from a contractor.

The suspension of Ganduje, a prominent figure within the APC, underscores the party’s commitment to addressing corruption allegations even at its highest levels.

Recall that the former governor was seen in a video released by Daily Nigerian when he was stuffing bunches of new dollar notes into the large pocket of his Agbada.
