Caroline Celico, the former wife of Brazilian football icon Ricardo Kaka, has recently clarified misconceptions surrounding the reason for their divorce, refuting claims that she parted ways with the star because he was too “perfect” for her.
Celico addressed the rumors on her Instagram story, stating, “And are UNFORTUNATELY hearing some fake news and FAKE quotes. Let me update you: I got divorced almost 10 years ago, from those 14 years of relationship there are 2 lovely teenagers.”
She further elaborated on her current life, revealing that she has been with her husband, Eduardo Scarpa Julião, for almost eight years, and they are expecting their first child together next month.
Celico affirmed her respect for her past and expressed gratitude for the life she has lived, including her relationship with her ex-husband.
The speculations began after a fake quote attributed to Celico went viral, which read, “Kaka never betrayed me; he always treated me well, and he gave me a wonderful family, but I was not happy; something was missing. The problem was that he was too perfect for me.”
The couple, who married in December 2005, announced their separation after 10 years of marriage. At that time, neither provided a reason for their split, but the recent fake quote had fans speculating about the nature of their relationship.
Ricardo Kaka, the 2007 Ballon d’Or winner, remained a single father for approximately four years following their divorce before tying the knot with Brazilian model Carolina Dias.
Meanwhile, Celico and her husband are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child together.
Throughout their separation, both Celico and Kaka have prioritised co-parenting and have managed to raise their two children, Luca Celico Leite and Isabella Celico Leite, in a healthy and supportive environment.
