The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Aisha Galadima, a political ally of former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, over alleged criticism of Governor Uba Sani on social media.
Aisha Galadima was reportedly arrested on Sunday afternoon from her residence in Tudun Wada, Kaduna, in connection with a post on her Facebook page criticising Governor Sani’s policies.
A source familiar with the situation said, “Aisha has just been arrested by DSS at her Tudun Wada residence in Kaduna.”
The source further revealed that Aisha had been using her Facebook page to voice her criticisms of the governor’s policies.
Governor Uba Sani recently highlighted the financial challenges his administration has been facing, attributing them to the huge debt burden and contractual liabilities inherited from the previous administration.
He disclosed that the state is grappling with a debt of $587 million, N85 billion, and N115 billion in contractual liabilities.
El-Rufai, who governed Kaduna State for eight years, handed it over to Governor Uba Sani, and the financial situation of the state has been a point of concern for the current administration.
