Six Family Members of Gombe Traditional Title Holder Die in Gruesome Collusion

A tragic motor accident on Sunday along the Azare-Gombe road claimed the lives of six family members of a prominent traditional title holder in Gombe Emirate, Alhaji Ahmad Abubakar, popularly known as Maidalan Gombe.

Thecollusion occurred near Misau LGA of Bauchi State as the family members were returning from Azare town in Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The deceased include Maidalan Gombe’s daughter, Zainab, her son Ahmad, Ahmad Muhammad, and Na’ima Muhammad, who are children of Maidala’s brother, Muhammad D.O., along with two others.

The funeral prayer for the departed souls was conducted yesterday at the Gombe Emir’s Palace.

The solemn ceremony was attended by the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, and thousands of sympathizers.

Governor Yahaya expressed his heartfelt condolences, describing the loss as devastating.

In a statement released by his spokesman, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the governor said, “Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt for the immense grief you and your loved ones are experiencing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as you pass through this heartbreaking time.”

Following the funeral prayer led by the Chief Imam of Gombe, Sheikh Muhammad Umar Pindiga, the remains of the deceased were laid to rest at the Gombe Central Cemetery along Gombe-Bajoga Road.
