Adamawa: Fintiri Proposes N55.5bn Supplementary Budget

The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has proposed N55.5bn as supplementary budget for the 2024 financial year.

The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Neido Kofulto, stated this while briefing newsmen in Yol, adding that said the supplementary budget was part of the agenda of the emergency executive council meeting presided over by the Deputy Governor, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta.

The supplementary budget, according to her was necessitated by the need to capture and finance projects that were not initially captured in the main budget.

On his part, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr Emmanuel Piridimso, said the supplementary budget was initiated to finance additional projects, as the state finances had reasonably increased.

According to him, the ministries captured in the supplementary budget were Education, Women’s Affairs, Commerce and Industries and Works and Energy Development, among others.

It could be recalled that the Adamawa State government, on December 9, 2023, presented an appropriation estimate of N225.8bn.
