Abuja-based businessman Chukwuemeka Okoye has gifted a plot of land to Superintendent of Police Ibrahim Sini for his exemplary integrity.

Sini had turned down a N150 million bribe offered by a defendant in a case he was investigating.

Okoye, Managing Director/CEO of Vegas Homes Ltd, honored Sini at a party, saying his actions had brought honor to the Nigeria Police Force and inspired others to uphold ethical standards.

“SP Sini’s actions have not only brought honor to himself and the Nigeria Police Force but have also inspired countless others to stand firm against corruption and uphold the highest ethical standards,” Okoye said.

Sini, who was arraigned in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in 2023 for allegedly accepting a bribe, said he rejected the offer to maintain his integrity and peace of mind, his core values in life.

“I decided to do the right thing so that I can have peace of mind, not just for myself but for my organisation, the Nigeria Police Force, and also for the country at large,” he said.

The Inspector General of Police had brought charges against the defendant for offering the bribe, and Sini’s conduct has been hailed as a beacon of hope and an inspiration to others.

Okoye’s gesture aims to appreciate Sini’s conduct and demonstrate that society values individuals of integrity and good conduct.
