A disturbing video has been released by bandits showing the captives they abducted from Maidabino town in Katsina state’s Danmusa local government area.

The video, which lasts 5 minutes and 41 seconds, shows the kidnapped women and children pleading for help.

The bandits, who claimed to be on a reprisal mission, alleged that members of the Community Watch Corps, a state-owned security outfit, had been killing their wives and children.

TCR gathered that they threatened to attack Danmusa town next, which they claimed would happen within a week.

In the video, one of the terrorists, dressed in an army uniform and carrying a machine gun, warned that not even the state governor could rescue the captives unless through dialogue.

He boasted that they could easily kill all the captives and that the Community Watch Corps members would be brought before them.

The bandits’ threat has sent panic through the community, with some residents of Danmusa reportedly relocating to Yartsamiya town, which is already under terrorist control.

Residents fear an impending attack, citing meetings between the bandits and their allies from Zamfara state to perfect their plan.

The community is, however, appealing to the government to deploy more security personnel to the area to prevent the impending attack and protect people from the daily occurrence of kidnapping along the Yantumaki road.

TCR noted that while the security forces and community watch corps are doing their best, they seem to be overwhelmed by the situation.
