Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the NNPP in the 2023 election, noted the importance of respecting each other’s privacy in marriages during a grand celebration organized by the Kano state government.

The event marked the marriage of 1,800 women and their brides, an initiative undertaken by the Kano state government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The elaborate celebration, attended by dignitaries from various fields, including governors, teachers, and businessmen, took place on Saturday in Kano City.

Senator Kwankwaso, known for his advocacy of marrying widows during his tenure as governor of Kano State, used the occasion to offer valuable advice to the newlyweds.

He highlighted the challenges faced by modern marriages, particularly regarding privacy issues exacerbated by the prevalence of smartphones. He urged couples to adhere to Islamic principles in managing their marriages while emphasizing the significance of safeguarding each other’s phones.

With the widespread use of smartphones, he cautioned couples to protect the privacy of their spouses, recognizing the increasing conflicts arising from phone-related issues in marriages both in their country and globally.

The celebration, which was part of the Kano state government’s efforts to promote social progress and betterment within the state, received praise from attendees.

Dignitaries commended the state government for its initiative in marrying 1,800 couples, stressing the importance of such programmes in fostering unity and societal advancement.

As couples embark on this new chapter of their lives, Senator Kwankwaso’s advice serves as a reminder to prioritize trust, respect, and open communication in their marriages, acknowledging the challenges posed by the digital age.
