The Kano State Police Command has made significant strides in its commitment to justice with the arrest of two individuals involved in separate and shocking homicide cases.
SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer in Kano State, confirmed the development in a statement via his official Facebook handle.
On December 20, 2023, the police received a report from Nura Balarabe, that Ukasha Muhammed,19, conspired with Chidera Ugwu, aged 24, to administer injections and drugs to Amina Bala, resulting in her tragic death.
The suspects confessed to the crime, as investigations revealed that Chidera Ugwu had been administering fatal injections to pregnant women.
In another incident, the Kano Police Command apprehended Yusuf Haruna, also known as Lagwatsani,18, for the senseless murder of Imam Sani Mohammed Shuaibu.
The attack occurred on December 31, 2023, when Yusuf Haruna stabbed the Imam with a sharp knife during ablution, following a warning to stop smoking Indian hemp around the mosque premises.
The victim succumbed to his injuries at Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital. The swift arrest of Yusuf Haruna underscores the commitment to protecting the sanctity of life and ensuring justice for victims of heinous acts.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc, assured the public of thorough investigations in both cases.
The objective is not only to bring the perpetrators to justice but also to serve as a deterrent to others contemplating such criminal actions.
CP Gumel expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and trust, urging continued cooperation.
