A tragic incident unfolded in Ondo as James Emmanuel, 35, has been accused of raping and fatally assaulting his 55-year-old female colleague, Mrs. Deborah Abiodun.
The Ondo State Chief Magistrate Court in Akure remanded Emmanuel, charging him with murder and rape after he allegedly assaulted the victim on January 17, 2024.
Reports indicate that after the assault, Emmanuel struck the victim’s head with a stone and disposed of her body in a waste pit.
The court has ordered his remand in the Ondo Correctional Centre, with the trial scheduled for March 27, 2024.
In a similar incident, a 27-year-old man named Adenuga Eniola was arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly raping and causing the death of his co-worker, Faith Jude, in Lafenwa, Abeokuta South Local Government Area.
