Salihu Lukman, a former Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s government for allegedly marginalizing the North Central geo-political zone from the country’s political leadership.
Lukman expressed disappointment, stating that despite his efforts to bring Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Iyiola Omisore into the party, the government has failed to address the region’s political exclusion.
Lukman also accused the government of drifting away from the party’s legacies and prioritizing investments in non-essential projects, such as the Lagos-Calabar coastal road, over critical national issues like insecurity and education.
He emphasized the need for collective responsibility to address the country’s problems, but lamented that elected officials are not taking action.
He questioned the government’s decision to spend N15 trillion on road construction while neglecting the urgent need to invest in education and address the crisis of out-of-school children, which has contributed to insecurity and banditry.
Lukman stressed that a progressive government should prioritize citizens’ living conditions and invest in policies that address pressing national issues.
